About

From 1st to 31st January I'll be taking part in the #Run1000 challenge aiming to walk and/or run as many miles as possible to raise awareness of mental wellbeing in rural areas.

The Five Nations #Run1000 challenges Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England and New Zealand in a competition to run a minimum of 1000 miles in January! It isn't about the speed or the distance, it is all about the taking part no matter how little the distance is. And all money raised goes directly to supporting seven fantastic charities.

Team Ireland together covered a distance of 9,500km during Run1000 in 2020 with 125 team members, that is like running from Ireland to Hong Kong, we motivated each other as a team to keep going day after day. We raised a total of 13,600 euro for Embrace farm supporting family members who have lost a loved one in a farm accident. We fully intend to grow our team for 2022 as now that we are virtually in Hong Kong we need to run home again hopefully stopping of somewhere exotic along the way.

Our chosen charity this year will again be Embrace Farm alongside 7 other fantastic charities, all of whom, provide mental health support for those within the rural sector.

And if you can’t take part then please do consider donating to #Run1000 and cheer us all on from afar throughout the month of January.

Please, join Team Ireland and donate £20 to participate and be admitted to the Strava group!

Thank you so much
