About

Please note. If you want to take part in #Run1000 then you need to Join Team (scroll to bottom of this page) which will enable you to set up your own page and your distance will then count towards the Team total in January.

From 1st to 31st January we'll be taking part in the #Run1000 challenge aiming to walk and/or run as many miles as possible to raise awareness of mental wellbeing in rural areas.

Could Team England claim the top spot for #Run1000 2022?

For this year’s Run1000; England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland and New Zealand challenge one another to get out and rack up some walking/running miles. Support your nation by signing up and hitting the road or trails, no matter if you are a first time runner or regular racer, every mile is counted. By joining Run1000 you will be raising vital funds for rural mental health charities whilst encouraging each other to improve our mental and physical health, and bringing your nation closer to victory.

It would be easy to think that England being the most populated nation would walk the competition (sorry for the pun), but no, last year we were out competed and Wales claimed the victory. This year we need you, and your friends, family and colleagues to join us and get moving.

Our chosen charities this year will be YANA and FCN alongside 6 other fantastic charities, all of whom, provide mental health support for those within the rural sector.

And if you can’t take part then please do consider donating to #Run1000 and cheer us all on from afar throughout the month of January.

Please, join Team England and donate £20 to participate and be admitted to the Strava group!

Grab your trainers and I’ll see you out there!

Cheers

Richard
